3,000+ Miles - 140 DAYS ACROSS THE USA

Chris has been chosen to participate in the inaugural Race Across USA, which is a 3000+ mile race across the United States.  The race begins on January 16, 2015 in Hunington Beach California.  The race ends 140 days later at the Chesapeake Bay in Maryland.  The goal of the race is to raise money for the 100 Mile Club, which challenges schools to have their students run / walk 100 miles in a school year. Chris will average a full marathon (26.2 miles) per day for the entire journey.

As you can imagine, this is no small task.  Your support is needed to make this dream a reality.   The minimum goal required to compete in this event is $4,000.00.  To date, we have raised just under $1,000.00 towards this goal.  Chris is doing the hard part, so we are looking for corporate sponsors or individuals who might be willing to donate other needed items, equipment, time and support along the route.   If you, or your organization would like to help support this effort, please contact Chris for further information.

International Marathon Event - Representing San Antonio
Chris Knodel recently returned from Kumamoto Japan where he represented the City of San Antonio in the Kumamoto Castle Marathon.  After completing the marathon, Chris was able to enjoy some brief sightseeing and met with local representatives to promote the City of San Antonio.  Kumamoto Castle's history dates back to 1467, when fortifications were established by Ideta Hidenobu.  The signature curved stone walls, known as musha-gaeshi, as well as the wooden overhangs, were designed to prevent attackers from penetrating the castle.
